EVENT INFORMATION
SHANE HOWARD JOINS “FOREVER YOUNG - A BOB DYLAN BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION” AT ST. KILDA'S PALAIS THEATRE, THURSDAY MAY 23
The Goanna singer-songwriter joins Ross Wilson, Adalita, Mick Thomas, Lisa Miller, Rob Snarski, Rebecca Barnard, and Charles Jenkins, as well as MC Brian Nankervis, Musical Director Shane O’Mara and aptly named house band The Luminaries
Continuing a tradition that began in 2011 for Bob’s 70th, Leicashow and Caravan are upping the ante to bring their beloved Bob Dylan Birthday bash to St Kilda's iconic Palais Theatre for the first time on Thursday May 23.
It's a tradition that has seen some of the biggest and brightest in Australian music - including Vika & Linda, Joe Camilleri, Tex Perkins and Tim Rogers - perform songs that are enmeshed in the very fabric of their musical lives and to wish Bob a good one!
Revered vocalists and long-established Dylan fan favourites Ross Wilson, Adalita, Mick Thomas, Rebecca Barnard, Rob Snarski, Lisa Miller and Charles Jenkins are all on board. They'll all be backed as always by the incredible house band, The Luminaries featuring MD Shane O’Mara, Shane Reilly, Adrian Whitehead, Rick Plant and Ben Wiesner, and huge Bob buff Brian Nankervis is MC'ing. As is the case every year, everybody will dig deep and give their very best - for you and for Bob.
None of us are getting any younger, but certain things are apparently ageless. And while Bob Dylan may be turning 83, his vast catalogue of songs - songs written over a period now spanning over 60 years - remains as wondrous, relevant and life-affirming as ever. It is a body of work that has, indeed, remained Forever Young.
